2. verifies that the contact is authorized to represent the named business, and
3. verifies that a legitimate business entity exists.

Unlike all other enhancements, there is a one-time charge to apply for Authentication. This charge is NONREFUNDABLE — it is incurred whether or not The Opt-Index can successfully authenticate account ownership. This fee does not, however, have to be paid annually. Once authenticated, a listing may keep its Authentication Seal as long as its administrative contact information does not change. If it does change, then the account will no longer be considered authenticated and must reapply. Also, the fee for Authentication does not qualify for promotional discounts.

Fees for all renewable enhancements are paid on a subscription basis for a term lasting from 1 to 10 years. By purchasing more than 1 year at a time, businesses can avoid the trouble of renewing annually and lock out the possibility of future price increases.

The minimum subscription term for any renewable enhancement purchase is 1 year. An account's subscription term starts with its first enhancement purchase. Additional purchases made in the middle of the term are prorated to the end of the current term. If less than 1 year remains in the current term, then the term must be extended by at least 1 year. Charges are then incurred to extend all existing enhancements as well as any new enhancements.

All fees are NONREFUNDABLE, in whole or in part, even if your enhancements are canceled or terminated prior to the end of your current subscription term. Additionally, we reserve the right to change fees or to institute new fees for new services at any time without prior notice.

Promotional discounts are occasionally made available through other channels. A promotional discount is a savings that may be taken against normal enhancement fees. It is activated by a special code number. Promotion codes are typically found in electronic or printed advertisements for The Opt-Index. Promotional discounts cannot be applied against the one-time charge for Authentication. In no case will the amount of the discount applied exceed the amount of the fees charged.
